Ihave been trying various methods of installing the ST-Link USB drivers on my Windows 11 Laptop, with absolutely no success. Here is the output I see when I try to run the installation batch file from the stsw-link009 download:

When I open the properties on the ST-Link device, it (obviously) says that the drivers are not installed. Needless to say, if I try to run a program form the Cube IDE, I get a "No-ST-Link Detected" message. Also, if I open a project on the mbed IDE while the nucleo is plugged in, the board does get recognized. The board is the F091RC, although I am not sure that's relevant to my issues. The pre-loaded blinky program does work as well.

I am a beginner in this space, so please let me know if I'm doing something dumb. I've read and watched a lot of things to try and figure out, and everything I've found either completely skips over any issues with this (so presumably it isn't a normal issue) or they dive into writing custom INF, disabling Secure Boot, or other relatively extreme measures.

Advise already given in this forum quite long ago (besides of modification and signing the INF) was to manually install the in-box winusb driver for ST-Link in the Device manager. This maybe works for early adopters of Win11 but there's time for ST to recognize Win11 .

Thanks for the input. I had seen that some forum posters had gotten it to work on 11, but I couldn't achieve the same success. I guess I'll just hold out until driver support is updated for Win11! Fingers crossed for it to be soon!

When I ordered this TP-Link AC1300 Wireless Dual Band PCI-Express Adapter (Archer T6E), I looked into customers reviews and they said it worked fine with no drivers on Ubuntu. I didn't have a CD/DVD player on my desktop so I (on a laptop with a DVD drive) copied and pasted the DVD support disk content on to a USB drive and used that. But when I tried to run autorun.exe it puts up archive manager and says An error occurred while loading the archiveUbuntu verison- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

In your case, details of software should indicate that the driver is for "Using Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary) Card. You should tick the radio button which will enable the use of the driver. Then apply changes.

Here you can download drivers for DisplayLink USB graphics chipsets incorporated in your dock, adapter or monitor. We recommend to update to the latest driver to address any potential security issue, fix bugs, improve performance and add new features.

I'm having trouble establishing a wireless internet connection. The device I have is the TP-Link 802.1ac, found from the lsusb command. I have tried the rtl8812au-dkms-git, rtl8821au-dkms-git, and rtl88xxau-aircrack-dkms-git drivers from the AUR, but something else must be wrong. The output of

Then follow the steps in the README.md file that is downloaded with that driver.

I will copy the instructions below, with the dkms install step modified for fedora instead of ubuntu/debian derivitives.

The simplest way would be to either buy or borrow a supported wifi dongle and use that temporarily while installing the appropriate driver for the wifi you already have.

Another alternative would be to connect to an ethernet wired port somewhere while downloading the needed packages. (most laptops have both wifi and ethernet).

To have a writable usb device to still be able to use for booting from the iso image you might consider installing ventoy on that usb device, then simply copy the iso onto the device as a file. Ventoy is capable of booting an iso from the usb device and leaving the usb device writable. Using ventoy you could use a single usb device to both boot the iso and transfer files between systems (including having the packages available for install into the running live system).

There is a problem when using a live system though, in that you would not be able to reboot the live system to load the compiled drivers as you would with an installed system. You would have to manually load the drivers and activate the device.

Ventoy is an open source tool to create bootable USB drive for ISO files. With ventoy, you don't need to format the disk again and again, you just need to copy the iso file to the USB drive and boot it.

The CP210x USB to UART Bridge Virtual COM Port (VCP) drivers are required for device operation as a Virtual COM Port to facilitate host communication with CP210x products. These devices can also interface to a host using the direct access driver.

The CP210x Manufacturing DLL and Runtime DLL have been updated and must be used with v 6.0 and later of the CP210x Windows VCP Driver. Application Note Software downloads affected are AN144SW.zip, AN205SW.zip and AN223SW.zip. If you are using a 5.x driver and need support you can download Legacy OS Software.

Please try checking ST-Link in the Windows Device Manager (View->Show Devices by Connection). Does it show the ST-Link Debug driver as shown below? If not, please try installing it manually (the drivers are located inside the ST-Link Tool directory).

If a custom vendor ID and/or product ID or description string are used, it is the responsibility of the product manufacturer to maintain any changes and subsequent WHCK re-certification as a result of making these changes.
