Hello,

I know this has been asked a few times before but who can I contact about purchasing Spinnaker boards?  I am very interested in using and testing not only Neuromorphic and Spinking Neural Networks capabilities but also the High Performance Computing applications, so any information on how to acquire one for local development and testing would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Jason (and everyone else on the list),

Our current official position is that we are no longer selling SpiNNaker-1 boards from Manchester.

SpiNNaker-2 boards will be available once they are manufactured but this is being done through TU Dresden and so purchases will have to be made through them.  We don't have an official timescale on this right now but I don't expect them to be available until next (calendar) year at the earliest.

If you are interested in using and testing the capabilities of SpiNNaker-1 then you are welcome to use the million-core machine in Manchester by registering for an EBRAINS account and using our Jupyter service - this will work equally well as having a local board of your own.  The million-core machine is not over-used at the moment so you wouldn't need to worry about not being able to run jobs on it due to lack of available boards.

Andy
