We look forward to hosting you and your teams this weekend at the National Sports Center in Blaine Minnesota for the State Championships!
Score and Spirit Score Reporting. Every team must report game scores and a spirit score for your opponent after every game. The low tech method is to send someone to tournament central or a satellite tent. The high tech method is to use your smart phone. We have an awesome smartphone system this year, links below. (Note that this won't work on a computer, but it will work on a tablet or smart phone.) Please only use the links for reporting the final score of the game and your spirit score, and only fill it out once per game. We'll also have these links and smartphone barcodes in our tournament program.
Spirit Scores. The spirit score is on a 1-5 scale (5 being the best). The program will have more details on the scale.
Please stay off the other fields. You may notice that we do not have every field rented at the NSC. Some fields are damaged and are unavailable this year. Please do not walk on those fields or allow your players or others to warmup (or screw around) on those fields.
Please keep your sidelines clean. We will provide trash bags at the meeting. We are a volunteer organization with insufficient volunteer power to clean up messes across the complex. Please have your team clean its sideline after every game, and pay special attention when you move fields.
Water. As you can see on the field map, there will be some water stations. But players need to bring water bottles to fill up at the stations - the bigger the better. NSC staff fills up the water jugs, but they may fall behind if demand is high or there is a good song on the radio. If you notice an empty water station that isn't remedied quickly, please notify a tournament volunteer.
Merchandise. Five Ultimate is our merchandiser this year. They will have some great products, awesome deals, the signature couches to hang out on, and a few special promotions.
Photographers. We have hired Ultiphotos as our official tournament photographers. Alex Fraser and Dan Aasland will be shooting photos all weekend. After the tournament each team will be getting a promo code to get a free photo or two, and additional photos will be available for purchase on the Ultiphotos website.
Feature Field. Field U2 is the grass bowl at NSC. It is close to tournament central. It will be our finals field on Sunday afternoon. It will also be our feature match field. We are rotating various games onto that field throughout the weekend. If your team is lucky enough to have a feature match, it would be great to alert your family, friends, and fans to show up double-especially for that round!
More information will be provided at the Saturday morning meeting. Thanks for all of the great work you do, best of luck with final preparations, and we'll see you Saturday!
Sincerely,
Dave Klink
