Hi wilco,
I want some suggestions regarding considering values for calibration. I have daily discharge data so should i use daily values for calibration or should i use monthly values?
Secondly when we get maps of ET, Snow fraction, snow melt on monthly time step, maps have average value of that month or sum of that month? and while cross checking my results with modis 8days 500m product which product I should use?

Regards,
Manas

Hi,

Re your first question on calibration: it really depends on the purpose of your study. If your study makes decisions on monthly results, then you could calibrate on monthly data which will always be easier. However, if daily patterns are important and need to be captured then you should calibrate on daily values.

Re your second question: fractional maps are always averages. So are temperature maps and other maps that would otherwise result in unrealistic values. I.e., aggregating temperature or snow fraction would be nonsense. Most of the maps however are summed, e.g., snow melt, rainfall, etc etc.
