Dear SPHY model user,

I am happy to see that you are using or planning to use the Spatial Processes in HYdrology (SPHY) model. The most recent SPHY model release is version 2.2.1, which has been released on the 26th of May 2019.

SPHY has been developed with the explicit aim of simulating terrestrial hydrology on flexible scales, under various physiographical and hydroclimatic conditions. SPHY is a spatially distributed leacky bucket type of model, and solves the soil-water and cryosphere processes on a cell-by-cell basis. It is written in the Python Programming language using the PCRaster Dynamic Modeling Framework.

Reference documentation for the SPHY model can be found here: https://sphy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

Correspondence for the SPHY model: sphymodel@gmail.com

The model concepts are well-described in Terink et al. (2015). The model, including it's QGIS plugins, can be downloaded from my GitHub repository. Official releases can be found here.

I encourage you to post Questions and Answers related to the source code, available plugins, input and output formats, calibration, applications, and suggestions for improvements.

Best Regards,

Wilco Terink
