Receive Newsletter via Email / Yearbooks Available to Lifetime Members

Lifetime Members, here’s your chance to help save the environment and
help us reduce costs at the same time. The SPHS Alumni Association
Annual Newsletter can now be received by Lifetime Members by email.
This will help us save trees and will allow us to reduce postage costs
so that we can focus on the Alumni Association’s main purpose - - the
awarding of scholarships.
Lifetime Members are encouraged to go to our website
(www.sphsalumni.com) and click on the “E-Newsletter - Lifetime Members
Only” link on our main page. The only info we require is your name,
graduating class, and email address. We will check our membership
database to confirm lifetime membership before adding email addresses
to the E-Newsletter distribution list. Those who elect to receive the
newsletter vial email will receive it approximately three weeks before
those who receive them by regular mail.
During our last mailing of the Alumni Newsletter to our lifetime
members, we learned (by the large number of undeliverable items
returned to us) that many had forgotten to inform us of their new
mailing address. If a newsletter was sent to you and it was returned
as undeliverable, we have deleted your old address from our database.

Please note that yearbooks are still available for purchase online by
Lifetime Members only for the unbelievable price of $15 (shipping
included). Simply go to our website (www.sphsalumni.com) and look for
the link for “Order Yearbooks - Lifetime Members Only”. While we
clearly state on the yearbook order page of our website that you must
be a Lifetime Member to be eligible to purchase a yearbook for the
price of $15, we occasionally receive order requests from non-members.
All orders for yearbooks are checked against our database of Lifetime
Members to confirm membership status. If an order for a yearbook is
placed by a non-Lifetime member, an email is sent notifying them of a
problem with the order and gives them a week to join as a Lifetime
Member, otherwise, the yearbook is placed back into the inventory of
available books.
Many persons have purchased yearbooks to see pictures of their
relatives who graduated from Southern. To receive the yearbook, the
relative purchased a Lifetime (or Memorial) Membership for the
relative who is pictured in the yearbook. We have yearbooks dating
back to 1910. Because of the limited number of yearbooks available, we
made this yearbook benefit available to our Lifetime Members only.
The supply of yearbooks is going down. Once all copies of a particular
year is gone, we have no way of getting any more copies as the
photography studio which put together our yearbooks for many years up
to the 1990s, is no longer in business. We are making available to
Lifetime Members, the excess copies that the school received each
year. Several years have no copies left. Please note you must go to
the Paypal screen to see if the yearbook you seek is still available.
There is no need to input any of your information if the yearbook is
listed as “Sold Out”.

Members by the 100th Birthday Celebration of the Alumni Association in
October 2010 (Southern opened in 1907; Southern's first graduating
class was the Class of 1910).
