A couple of quick reminders of Upcoming Events (we hope to see you at

SOUTHERN’S THANKSGIVING DAY FOOTBALL GAME (76th Meeting) - Thursday,
November 24, 2011
Southern Football Head Coach, Scott Pitzner, invites all Alumni and
Friends to the 76th meeting of Neumann-Goretti and Southern on
Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011. The game will be held at our
Supersite located between 10th and 11th on Bigler Street, 3 blocks
east of Broad St. and 1 block south of Oregon Ave. Tickets are $8 at
the gate and $5 if purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased at
Southern; just come to the school and ask for Mr. Pitzner or Mr. Mike
Jackson, Southern’s Athletic Director, tell security you are there to
purchase tickets for the game. Coach Pitzner thanks you in advance
for your continuing support to SPHS students, and he hopes to see many
of us at the game!

ENCORE PRESENTATION OF “WE WRITE SOUTH PHILLY HIGH” - Friday, December
2, 2011
Tickets are still available for the award winning theatrical
presentation, “We Write South Philly High”. The encore presentation
will be held Friday night, December 2, 2011, at 8 p.m. at the Wilma
Theater (Broad and Spruce Streets). The play will be performed for
and sponsored by your SPHS Alumni Association. We want to fill the
300 seat theater with alumni, family and friends. Tickets are just
$15 each. ALL TICKET PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE NEW DRAMA AND
ARTS GROUP AT SOUTHERN.
As alumni of the “School of the Stars” we have our own rich cultural
history of talent. The opportunity to honor and respect that
tradition presents itself to us as we assume the responsibility to
support the Arts and the new and current SPHS Drama Club.
