supporting translation for more languages

Hi,

just noticed that translating to Bulgarian (code 'bg') doesn't work .

Quite likely because it's not in the list of supported languages (https://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/master/usage/configuration.html#confval-language)

Is there an easy way to make this work? Or is it a large effort to support an extra language?

Hi Pieter,

Surely, Sphinx does not have message catalog for Bulgarian.
To make messages translated to Bulgarian, please join our translation team!
Then all messages will be translated in future release :-)
