Dear Colleagues,

 

Please find attached Situation Report 2 on the Assam floods as of 18 July 2026. Floods have affected 21,274 people across 154 villages, with 32 Relief Distribution Centres active and 206 individuals in relief camps. Significant road erosion and dyke damage continue in Dhemaji, Biswanath, and Lakhimpur.

 

Government agencies and SDRF are leading relief distribution, medical deployment, and infrastructure restoration. Sphere India and District IAGs are closely monitoring the situation. Key emerging needs include WASH support, food assistance, veterinary care, road restoration, and public health surveillance.

Please find attached Situation Report 1 on the ongoing flood and landslide situation in Assam and Mizoram as of 16 July 2026. The report provides an updated overview of impacts, government response, humanitarian actions, and emerging needs across both states.

 

Key highlights include:

  • Floods affecting over 35,000 people across six districts in Assam.
  • Major landslides in Mizoram blocking NH‑54 and key highways, with families evacuated from high‑risk areas.
  • Active relief distribution, medical deployment, and road clearance operations underway.
  • Multi‑sectoral humanitarian support required to address gaps in shelter, WASH, protection, and livelihood recovery.

 

We request partners and stakeholders to review the report and coordinate any support or interventions through the respective district and state mechanisms.
