Dear Colleagues,
For the developing emergency situation of floods in South India ( Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka) and drought situation in most of the country, Sphere India secretariat is strengthening coordination, assessment and analysis is at the local levels by activating IAGs in AP and Karnataka and planning for multi agency multi sectoral assessments as it become feasible.
At the national level, an Emergency Coordination meeting in New Delhi is being planned on 9th October 2009 (details as below)

· Core Beliefs, Core commitments and Principles of Sphere India.
· Objectives and functions of Sphere India.
· Organisation structure and processes governing structure
· Membership norms and process governing membership
· Terms of Reference for FMOA (Financial and Management Oversight agency) and Legal expert for registering new entity.
· Updated Road map for future actions on OE process.
b. Discussions and approval of Management committee: (30 Minutes)
OE subcommittee is meeting on 6th October. The draft recommendations of the subcommittee will be circulated to MC members on 7th October.
- Preparation for Sphere Project Board meeting: (10 Minutes)
Sphere India application for membership of Sphere Project Board has been accepted and SI Chairperson, Mr. N.M. Prusty shall be attending the Sphere Project Board Meeting in Ottawa, Canada from 19th to 22nd October.
A brief presentation(summary of points to be submitted to Sphere Project Board from the perspective of Sphere India members) will be made followed by discussion.
