3. One new grant opportunity for homelessness innovations and four
previously shared grants (below): One from the Solano Community
Foundation to support non-profit services impacted by COVID-19, and three from First
5 Solano: Emergency Response Fund (open), Triple P Positive Parenting
Program (due July 8), Annual Grants (due soon,
June 8th at 5pm).
Update: Next week you will be receiving a survey to prioritize the health needs of our community. Please keep an eye out as this survey is crucial and will drive future Solano Public Health efforts. The survey was intentionally made to be clear and interactive.

NEW! Grant Opportunity: The following grant opportunity was brought to our attention; and we are forwarding this to you so that perhaps you can share it through your networks.
Grant: Solano County Board of Supervisors- Request for Proposals #2020-03- Community Investment Fund – Homelessness Innovation Grants
Concept: The County Administrator’s Office is seeking highly-qualified agencies to tackle the issue of homelessness in Solano County. Proposals submitted under this RFP must strengthen capacity to address homelessness by addressing the issue of unsheltered homelessness in Solano County following Housing First principles. Proposers may propose to provide temporary housing, permanent housing, services for unsheltered or people placed in temporary or permanent housing, or any combination of the three. Funding is available through this RFP in grants of $75,000 to $250,000 per year. The amount of funding available to contribute to reducing unsheltered homelessness in Solano County is $1,420,000 over a 2 year, 10 month period (approximately $500,000 total annually) with the term of service being September 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023.
Eligibility to apply: Non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations and government entities are eligible to submit proposals. Agencies not traditionally providing services for Solano County are encouraged to propose.

Community Foundation COVID-19 Response Grants up to $10,000 are available
for nonprofits and faith-based organizations:
Direct Basic Needs Support. Funding to help low-income children
and families, adults, and older adults struggling to secure basics needs (i.e.,
food, shelter, healthcare, and medicine), and
Nonprofit Operating Support. Funding to help nonprofits continue operating and thus able to deliver essential services to their communities (i.e, payroll expenses, IT equipment, etc.).

First 5 Solano Emergency Response Fund
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the First 5 Solano Commission has
allocated funds to the Emergency Response Fund and is currently accepting applications for Phase 2 of
this funding opportunity. Grants of up to
$7,500 are available to address needs of community partners generated by the
local, state, and federal response to community emergencies, which may include,
but are not limited to:
Funding available FY2020/21 (July 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020): $50,000 - Application
period currently open.
Applications will be accepted from current First 5 Solano grantees and other
community agencies and individuals serving children ages 0-5, their families,
and providers of services in Solano County. Applications will be considered in
the order received until the funding has been fully allocated.
