Dear Healthy Solano Collaborative, 

Happy Monday! We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy during these difficult times! Please review and share the following information:

  1. The 22nd issue of the Solano Public Health COVID-19 Newsletter will be released November 30, 2020.
  2. The Healthy Solano Collaborative’s virtual meeting took place Thursday, November 19, 2020. The slides from the presentation are attached.
    • For social media graphics and Healthy Solano Collaborative material, visit our google drive. We have also added some folders to the towards the top of the page to help you navigate better.
    • As was mentioned on our call Cristal Little is a tenant organizer with the Vallejo Housing Justice Coalition (VHJC). If you have clients or questions please feel free to refer them. VHJC’s blurb is below:

  1. Travis Credit Union and Solano County Public Health have partnered together to produce the video series, Strengthening Your Financial Foundation in the Time of COVID-19, featuring multiple financial education topics that are most relevant during the pandemic.         
  2. Leaders of Men, Inc is hosting a mentoring in the park picnic on December 12, 2020 from 12:00pm-4:00pm at Magnolia Park. (Flyer attached)
  3. Free Flu Shot Clinic information: This season the flu vaccine is more important than ever! Flu vaccines are recommended for everyone six months or older. Please visit www.solanocounty.com/flu for more details and additional flu shot opportunities.
  4. The Vacaville FRC has funding through CARES to assist Vacaville residents who have been financially impacted by COVID-19. The deadline to apply for funding is December 15, 2020. (English and Spanish flyers attached)
  5. Governor Gavin Newsom issued a media column on new supports for California renters and homeowners.
  6. Touro University is offering Zoom into Wellness, a webinar series to engage the community in healthy behaviors during this challenging year. FREE and open to everybody. These events will be held Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 5-6 pm. Flyer attached, and more information can be found on the MOBEC Website.
  7. PAL programs are open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens ages 13-18 who are enrolled in school.  Membership is free, and requires an application. The PAL Center is currently closed due to COVID-19, but is supporting members through virtual programs and a food pantry.  Attached is the November calendar.
  8. The Student Nutrition Department at Vacaville Unified is serving free breakfast and lunches for the 2020 Fall Semester. (English and Spanish flyer attached). Visit www.solanocoe.net for updated school meal locations throughout Solano County and FAQs regarding reopening schools during COVID-19.
  9. U.S. Department of Labor’s COVID-19 and the American Workplace video (English) (Spanish). For more information, fact sheets and a tool to determine eligibility form the relief offered by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) visit: dol.gov/FFCRA
    • The California legislature passed AB 3088, the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act of 2020. Legal Services of Norther California created short informational videos in both English and Spanish, please check them out.
  10. Trauma Transformed Monthly Newsletter: Safety and Stability includes a variety of resources for all those who are supporting young one's with love and courage during this time of instability.

Reminder: The Community Resources section of the Solano Public Health COVID-19 Page has more information on stress & coping, along with a variety of resources and information for seniors, workers & employers, local food access, health care & public assistance, families, immigrant communities, and unhoused individuals.

If you think you’ve been exposed or need to review guidance on self-isolation, the isolation and exposure page has helpful links and frequently asked questions. As of August 3rd, 2020 Solano Public Health updated the guidance for childcare during COVID-19. Public Health has also recently affirmed CDC guidance re: Employees who test positive for COVID-19 may return to work after 10-day isolation; no need for another test.
