Garden Tour 2014 -The Results

Happy Sunday!
Numbers have been crunched this morning, and here some results from the big event: 

23 Total Gardens

200 total tickets sold for $4,180 (119% of $3500 goal)

-164 pre-sale (89 online, 50 by the board, 25 at local businesses)

-36 day-of sales

By comparison: 171 tix sold in 2013, 141 tix sold in 2012, 124 tix sold in 2011

198 checked in to take the tour

-171 of paid tickets

-27 comps from sponsors

By comparison: 170 tour-takers in 2013, 111 in 2012, 108 in 2011

38 sponsors for $8,000 cash (114% of $7,000 goal) and $4,425 in-kind

(By comparison, 26 sponsors for $6,000 cash in 2013 - our first year with a big effort in this direction)

GRAND TOTAL: $12,180 - 116% of our goal! 

(Plus $227 in swag sales and 1 new member.*)

Many thanks to all that contributed to making our tour a great success!
Those of you that recruited gardens and sponsors, promoted the invite to media, neighbors and friends, volunteered your time, took the tour, and talked up the Co-op in general. 

This goes to show what a wonderful community we have here. I'm proud to call you all my friends and neighbors. 

Hoping next year's Garden Tour Hub is our store,

*Note: We only garnered 1 new member at this year's tour, as compared to 8 new members last year. I think this shows that we are engaging our current membership and that our tour is also a draw for those outside of our community.

Let me echo these sentiments. This was an absolutely great event and Leigh, Martin and the P/E crew and Jen M. coordinating volunteers made sure it came off without a hitch. Everyone involved in recruiting gardens and sponsors did a great job! And whoever was responsible for holding off the rain until several minutes after our 4pm end time is also amazing.
