Attached is a slide show from a webinar I took on the grants due in April. They estimate the grants at about $800,000 each and mentioned the sweet spot would be 3-500,00 since then they could give twice as many grants with the same amount of available funds. Problem is they absolutely want us to have a lease in place and one that's renewable for the length of the grant period which is 3 or 5 years depending. Please take a look at the slides attached and then I'll arrange a conference call for later this week.

Can everyone do lunchtime? Thursday or Friday? Or suggest another time:)

Either is fine by me.  After a quick read my big questions is: We're sure that we're in what they consider a food desert? And that wherever the store is going to be built will be in that subsection of S. Philly?

From what I understand, they only require the food desert for the HFFI not the regular CED.  I'll reach out and confirm.

FYI, I pulled some numbers today.  Unemployment and poverty rate must be higher or equal to state or federal level.  Compared to state the 19146 zip code meets the requirement for this grant.  Summary below, full chart attached.

	PA	19146
unemployment	5.6%	25.0%
poverty (18-64 yo)	12.6%	19.1%

So I've looked over this application and it's really not for us unless we had a lease in place in the next couple weeks.  

No sense us spinning our wheels on this application if this year just won't work.  I'll certainly keep it on the radar for next year.
