Membership (Cassie Plummer)
The Membership Committee is currently working with our Outreach Coordinator (OC) to conduct an email and telephone outreach follow-up to people who RSVP'd or attended the garden tour but are not members. A telephone script has been created. The team hopes to create an email/phone outreach volunteer team that can periodically conduct telephone outreach to recruit new members. The plan is to have the OC do these initial calls to test the script and see where we need to tweak the process to provide training to a team of volunteers.
The Membership Committee provided the planning template for the General Membership Meeting to Board Members Joe Marino, Anna Kisiel, and Matt Stern so they can proceed with planning. The committee will be working with Bookkeeping to reconcile membership data and print certificates for those who have reached $200 membership investment since the last time of certificate printing.
There have been some recent changes to NationBuilder membership structure offerings - specifically, NB now only offers monthly recurring payments which affects our 2 year payment plan (it's now billed $8.33 per month rather than $25 every 3 months). Membership is working with IT and Operations to come up with a solution to this.
Operations Committee (Jess Calter)
Operations Committee continues to meet jointly every
other month with the Real Estate Committee to ensure good cross committee
coordination on the search and negotiations for a space. Committee has been
working through the financial pro-formas on the locations that the RE committee
is pursuing. Committee members are meeting with TRF to solidify funding sources
for the real estate negotiation process.
Also Emily on the operations committee has
undertaken a research project around food justice tactics existing co-ops
utilize. She has had several conversations with co-ops and other community
organizations. She is continuing research and will compile into a comprehensive
report of findings.
Programs and Events (Sarah Radcliffe)
The Programs and Events committee proudly reports the
results of the 2014 Garden Tour. Held on September 6, the event boasted 23
Garden sites, 200 tickets sold, 38 sponsor businesses, and raised a total of
$12,180 for the Co-op. P/E thanks all those that volunteered their time,
assisted in recruiting sponsors and gardens, sold tickets, and otherwise helped
make this the most successful Garden Tour to date, exceeding the overall
budgeted income by 16%.
This fall, the committee will assist with the October member meeting, host a Soup Swap in November, and aim to replicate the popular Greene Street Coffee Roasters tour in December. Sarah Radcliffe will be stepping in as committee chair.
