Hey there team,
Attached are our annual goals.  They are pretty simple, just basically saying we apply for grants as requested:)  Our goal for this year is $5000.  I can't say we have anything on the burner but keep your ears and eyes peeled!  One small thing is that I reached out to the Dickinson Square West people to see if they had any leads on a grant to cover office space.  I heard they did but I don't have any details.  The coop is potentially going to hire a part time outreach coordinator so a desk and some storage space would be great.  If you hear of anything that might fit that bill, let the group know!
Thanks and hope all's well with each of you!
Cheers,
Maria

Hi Maria,

Thanks for being patient while the Board and Operations have worked through the FY15 budget and committee goals.  The goals for your committee are attached.  Your annual budget for the fiscal year that started on April 1 and runs through March 31, is below

There weren’t any major changes to what was previously submitted but I’m more than happy to discuss – either over the phone or in person – any questions or concerns you may have.  My goal is to make sure you understand what’s being asked of your committee and that you feel supported in your work.  Also keep in mind that the budget will change substantially when we find a location and begin planning for larger scale membership recruitment, store planning, and opening.  Thanks for the time and dedication that you put into the Co-op – we’ve got a great year ahead!

Best, Alison

PS: For planning purposes, remember that all budgeted expenses over $100 and non-budgeted expenses over $50 must be approved by the board.  Budget requests should be submitted with monthly reports for discussion at the upcoming board meeting.

New Grants $5,000

hey there,

so it occurs to me that i'm not gonna be on top of this for a few months after i have the baby!  i'm sure you can tell, there isn't much going on but in case anything comes up, could one of you pick up as point person while i'm away?  i'd appreciate it!

basically i'd tell the board that XXX is going to field correspondence while i'm out (from delivery for 12 weeks) and that if anyone has grant recommendations they should send them to that person.

takers???

Hi Maria,

Sorry for the crickets. Hectic time right now.

I didn't realize you were pregnant. Congratulations!

Could the board just send any grant recommendations to our whole (little) grants group? Guess I'm not clear on what the point person would be doing other than passing the info along to the rest of us.

Also, what's the time frame are we talking about? You said from delivery to 12 weeks, but I wasn't sure whether delivery is likely to be next week or next year. :)

Shauna

Thanks Shauna:)  Yeah, I'm due June 6th so potentially June, July and August I'd be out of the picture.  Yes, the point person would pass along the info to the team but also make sure someone takes on the application if there is one, respond to questions if the board asks any etc.  It really needs to be one person or else everyone will just assume someone else will handle it.  There hasn't been much recent activity but for example, one board member wrote recently and asked me to follow up with a granting body to see if they'd be interested in funding the cost of office space for us.  It was just a quick email but one person would need to do it.  We also did the PAF application recently and I distributed and pinned you and Rose down to do it (great job!)!  So that would fall to the point person:)

One other thing!  Once a month, Alison requests a brief report for the board.  This is what I sent this month:

Two scholarships have been awarded to the Co-op for CCMA 2014.  We are still waiting to hear back from the Philadelphia Activities Fund.  Per a request from Membership, we reached out to Dickinson Square West for information on grant funding they received for office space and are pending response.  We are still in need of a volunteer or intern to help input our research into the grants calendar.  Board and operations should call upon this grants group as needed when grants arise.  We have no budgetary needs at this time.  Please note that Maria Sourbeer will be out on maternity leave from June through August.  It has not yet been decided who will act as liaison with the board during that period.

Hey there,

Sorry about the delay.  I managed to avoid email for my entire vacation (!) and missed this.

I'm happy to help.

I think it's telling that I worked hard to stay away from email, never once considered staying away from Facebook.

Can we set a up a time to meet so you can catch me up a bit?
