Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Physical activity transforms lives — from orientation and mobility skills to recreational and competitive sports, to the simple joy of movement and exploration. The January 2026 issue of The Educator will celebrate these many dimensions under the theme “Physical Activity: Orientation and Mobility, Sports and Recreation.” We invite you to share your research, stories, case studies, and reflections — and to showcase how practice, policy, and technology are empowering learners with visual impairment around the world.

We welcome a wide range of contributions, including:

  • Research articles highlighting innovative practices, emerging trends, or evidence-based approaches.
  • Reports and case studies showcasing successful programmes, partnerships, or community initiatives.
  • Position statements addressing policy, access, and rights to inclusive physical activity opportunities.
  • Personal reflections and stories from practitioners, families, or individuals with lived experience.
  • Practical resources and strategies that can inspire educators and service providers across regions.
  • Innovations in technology that expand access to physical activity — including fitness apps, wearables, navigation tools, tactile maps, and adaptive sports equipment.

We particularly encourage submissions that share perspectives from different cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic contexts.

Submission deadline: 30 November 2025
Email submissions to: Public...@ICEVI.org
Submission guidelines: Available on the ICEVI website – https://icevi.org/resource-library/the-educator/
