I have several Windows 11 computers in which the Teams app gets stuck with the message "Loading" when starting up. It seems this issue started when they broke Teams up into two different apps, the home user one, and the "work and school" versions. If doesn't do it on every Windows 11 computers, but I would say nearly half of them.
We are seeing the same issue with our users. Teams will not load after being updated on Windows 11. Teams hangs on the Loading Microsoft Teams startup screen after login and the registry setting for "com.squirrel.Teams.Teams" under HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run is deleted. Quitting the hung Teams screen from the notification screen icon and restarting Teams using the shortcut also results in it being hung up on the start screen. While Teams isn't running, manually adding back the "com.squirrel.Teams.Teams" registry setting, even if it has no value, allows Teams to start properly again using the shortcut and it appears to work normally afterwards. We are seeing this for all of our users running Windows 11.
I also had this on a client's computer that had upgraded to Windows 11. The issue was the existance of a teams install that came WITH win 11 that apparently randomly decided to interfere with Teams Work and School launching. Removed the teams from the OS (it had a white square in the icon) and the desired Teams started working.
Yet another reason why we tell clients to not touch windows 11.
Hi, could you share the method which worked for you? Because I have applied all the below tips and methods on the laptop of tampa real estate market. But its still showing the issue. And their alot of work is pending. Kindly share the procedure through which you have fixed your issue. I will be thankfull.
This worked for me as well (Windows 10). Teams was stuck at the login screen after a forced shutdown of my laptop. After you have deleted the mentioned folder Teams needs to be reinstalled using the standard Windows installation. Afterwards the problem was solved.
I had this problem. I went to 'apps and features' found the Teams app. Clicked the 3 dots on the right and chose "advanced options." Scrolled down, clicked "Terminate" to make sure it wasn't half running. Then I clicked "reset" and "repair" and Teams was then able to start fully.
Windows 11 comes by default with installed MS-Teams, which is causing conflict with MS-Teams School or Work, you need to Settings, Apps, Apps and Features, then uninstall the MS-Teams which is coming with windows (probably having different icon, with white symbol). then restart the computer.
Had a similar issue. Solutions like adding missing registry key and alike - did not work. Reinstalling anything sounds pretty disgusting, so instead I relogged in my organization account in Windows Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. And voil - everything works fine now. Note - my password wasn't changed or modified. Looks like some sort of auth session just expired and that caused a problem

All the "solutions" are pretty bad. I'm hoping it will be fixed before Teams upgrades again as I'm not looking forward to all of our Windows 11 users needing to be fixed again...
Cleared registry, removed all traces of - get this - WINDOWS 11 Teams (for Live accounts only), cleared all temp locations, - HANG - repaired Office, removed traces of Office 2016 (yeah it's been a while), disconnected Work/School account, reinstalled Teams... again, re-added Work account - HANG - and again... found corrupt security perms for /Users on C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MicrosoftTeams_ - disabled inheritance, took ownership and re-added all perms for folder, restart, - HANG - re-installed Teams, set compatibility mode (Windows 8) auto run as Admin...
