Hi,

We need to develop a chat application that what speeqe already has
(rooms, room history) and add to that private messages between users
and private rooms (a user creates a room that has a password and then
only those that know the password can go in; each room has an unique
url).

Having still to look into the source code, i'm asking how easily do
you think speeqe could be extended to do this?

We're also looking for developers interested in working with us on
this project so if you're interested send me an email at
so...@thisislove.pt .

Thanks and hope to hear from you :)

It already has the support you are requesting.  Its just not very apparent in the user interface.

Private messages are supported by putting an @ in front of the username followed by the message.
So @nathan hello  will send a private message to the nathan user.  If you click on the user in the MUC roster, it actually prefills the message box with @user.

With speeqe you can use the configure screen to make the room private, but I don't think the UI supports the access control list.  For this support it would only require adding the access control list in the configuration screen.  The configuration screen needs some design work too. I say it would be pretty easy to fix this.

The xmpp support is there to do what you are asking, the UI however is missing what you need.
