Hi folks.

I was think in a new web2.0 app for bring the old and dead big
community of irc users. And I think in something using xmpp, so I
found this! Great!

In my first idea, I thought in use Rails+jquery. But also i'm python
developer. I think that I can help a lot with this. I created
na...@irc.brasnet.org chatroom, in the (G)old age of irc, the channel
#natal had 1000 simultaneous users!

Well, I bring some friends of irc (in Brazil had a big and extinct
server) to speeqe, and they tell me some good suggestions...

* How add moderators? I dont have found it, would be good to have.
* Query in a tab separated (/query nick; or /q nick; maybe can be
good)
* Highlight/beep when my nick has showed in chat. (this is very
important)
* Moderate image/video inlines (very important too)
* i18n?

(Is it a good idea create tickets in trac about it?)

I still can not install speeqe in my PC, I will try again by basic
tutorial.

I hope tha this community can grow up, and I hope that code
contributions are readily accepted.

In general this project is great! Good job and luck guys.

:)

Code and help is greatly appreciated!   I would go ahead and put your tickets in the tracker.  It would at least give people a chance to think about them.  I have been very busy recently, but sometime in the future I can get back to developing speeqe.  This means that any code contribution will be gladly accepted.  An idea we have is to provide an IRC to XMPP gateway.  This would allow irc clients to connect to xmpp and give the old commands to irc users.  It would also be nice to add some of this to the web interface.   Maybe a way to turn on IRC commands?

Thanks for your interest!  I need to visit Brazil.  It looks amazing.
