here are my nominations for september:
The Cheese Monkeys by Chip Kidd
http://www.amazon.com/Cheese-Monkeys-Novel-Two-Semesters/dp/0060507403
i'm a sucker for a good coming-of-age story, esp one in this time
period, involving a bit of art. oh, the clever title had me at
"the"... ;o) this is my first and highest recommendation based solely
on my curiosity and desire to read the book.
The Brief Wonderous Life Of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
http://www.amazon.com/Brief-Wondrous-Life-Oscar-Wao/dp/1594489580
i've also been dying to re-read this one in a group setting. i read
the galley before it was a pulitzer winner and was blown away. an
amazing coming-of-age story that touches anyone who's had a hard time
of life and thinks the greater forces of the world are out to get
them.
