Inregards to the romans is this another word for Europe in general? The Europeans do seem to be good the poor and weak with their welfare system. Europeans do seem to be good to the filthy as they are quite sexually liberal. Also their rulers seem to not have too much power because of democracy.

On the flip side Europeans may not be romans because a lot of Europeans are non religious, some even identify as having no religion, atheist, agnostic etc. instead of Christian.

If Europeans are indeed romans does this mean the great battle will be fought between Europeans who practice secularism as opposed to Muslims who practice sharia law?

True, they are not religious in general but Western world is fast changing with the far right coming in power in some countries while they are a very close second in others. The left leaning politicians and parties have a very close competition with the right and the right may eventually win over them before they assemble for the big war.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, the eastern part of the Roman Empire came to be known as the Byzantine Empire and the passage from Hugh N. Kennedy is there in the piece above to support this as well. Unfortunately, some people are deceived into thinking that the Byzantium was outside of Europe. No mental gymnastics can transfer Rome from Europe to Russia which some have been desperately attempting to do. In my view its just simple ,Romans means people inhabiting in the region of Capital Rome ,During Roman era the region under the empire was under the Capital Rome and under its rule/Obeying to the Capital Rome. But Now a days There is no Roman Empire but Rome Exists today as Rome city in Italy and many people/Nations Obey to it for one thing ie. to Roman Catholic church(& Vatican City).
