Hi!

First of all: thanks for this nice calculator. Has helped me a lot during my studies already.

As i read through a blog article discussing numerous options for Calculators on Linux, i thought i'd check for updates on Speedcrunch and noticed that there is 0.12 already. Mint repo only gives me 0.10.1 :-(

Anyway, the .deb is available so this is a 2minute thing to change...

But Apparently:

in 0.12 i cant type a caret to write exponents like 2^2 = 4

It will just type a space and will be treated as such. I can type carets in any other application - at least i have not found any so far that does not allow me to type them.

I checked this in my VM at work (Mint 17.2, 32bit) and on my Thinkpad with Mint 17.2 and the behaviour is the same. No caret...

It works perfectly in in 0.10.1.

Also it works perfectly on my Windows 10 machine in both 0.10.1 and 0.12.
In 0.12 on Antergos (another VM that i run) it also works perfectly fine.

So i did not yet raise a bug as i feel this must be my setup - but i have no clue where to start searching for the root cause.

Any Hints?

Thank you!
