How about a feature to back-reference old results? i.e. prefix every
result with something like $1, $2, ... and then put $x into a formula
like "sin(3 * $5)" to reference it...

Actually I wonder why people don't use variables for that purpose,
since *relative* back reference like this sooner or later will trigger
mistakes.

But, anyway, just ask him/her to file it as an issue.
