Friday, January 26th at 7:00 PM the Loft Literary Center (www.loft.org)
hosts Hmong and Laotian American poets Pacyinz Lyfoung and Bryan Thao
Worra for a free one-night-only performance: Parallax.
Explore the Hmong and Lao experience from perspectives you've never
seen before, from Asian American activism to the edges of science
fiction, mythology and the secret wars of the CIA.
There are a few more details on all of this up at my blog at
http://thaoworra.blogspot.com
Among the poems that I will be reading will be a premiere of The Deep
Ones, and a few other examples of my speculative poetry work. I wish I
could name a few more concrete examples, but there's a random factor to
the final line-up of pieces I'll be sharing during that evening.
This reading kicks off the new monthly Un-named Poetry Series of Hmong
and Lao writers that lasts until March, and is funded in part by
COMPAS. The Loft is located at 1011 Washington Ave. N. Minneapolis, MN.
