Could anyone tell me how to have Specto watch an IRC channel please?

As far as I know, this is not possible as there is no watch
implemented specifically for this. You might be able to use the
"pidgin" watch to watch what's going on with pidgin in general
(granted you only have an IRC account on it), but I really don't see
what the point of that would be... pretty much any IRC client I've
seen uses the standard notification system.

XChat is not using the notification system on Ubuntu 9.1. What client do you use (if you are on Ubuntu)?
Yeah, I already use the Pidgin workaround to get notifications, but then I'm logged in twice.
