Hi,
I cannot access the preferences in Specto because the Specto panel icon
disappears before completion of "Starting Specto".

Sounds like a crash on startup or something. Can you run it from a terminal
and see what is the output?

If possible, use version 0.4.1 or the bzr version... 0.3.1 is dead.

I am using ubuntu lucid.
specto 0.3.1 was working until an update or few ago (I update once a week).
Then this error occurred.

I am now using 0.4.1+174~fmarl6~natty1 per your instructions - I cannot
find a 0.4.1 version for lucid.

After installation, typing "specto" in a terminal gave the following output:

/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/spectlib/notifier.py:327:

Seems like it is not able to create the ~/.config/specto/watches.list file
or something like that.

Please provide your ~/.config/specto/error.log
and ~/.config/specto/specto.log

~/.config/specto/error.log and ~/.config/specto/specto.log both have zero
bytes - see .png cropped screenshot to confirm.

I have another machine with ubuntu and specto installed.
I notice on my other machine that specto does not have this problem.

Therefore, please pause this issue resolution effort.

I will reinstall ubuntu and specto on this machine.

I will then report issue status.

I'm suspecting your ~/.config/specto/watches.list file is invalid/corrupt
in some way. Try renaming/deleting it.

Deleted ~/.config/specto/watches.list

Specto now appears under Indicator Applet 0.3.7 on the panel.

This applet, which appears normally as a white envelope icon, turns green
when a specto watch triggers it.
Cool!

File > Import watches does not appear to do anything before returning to
Specto.
Edit > Add works.
File > Export watches does not appear to do anything before returning to
Specto.
