The D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit number that identifies business entities on a location-specific basis. Assigned and maintained by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the D-U-N-S Number is widely used as a standard business identifier.
Your D-U-N-S Number will be used to check the identity and legal entity status of your organization as part of our enrollment verification process for joining the Apple Developer Program or the Apple Developer Enterprise Program. While many types of businesses can receive a D-U-N-S Number, your business must be recognized as a legal entity (such as a corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company) to enter into the legal terms and obligations of Apple Developer Program agreements. DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, and branches are not accepted.
Companies and educational institutions must provide a D-U-N-S Number registered to their legal entity. A D-U-N-S Number is optional for government organizations. If you're enrolling as an individual, you don't need a D-U-N-S Number.
You'll be asked for the following information when looking up your organization:
After requesting a D-U-N-S Number, please allow up to 5 business days to receive your number from D&B. Expediting your D-U-N-S Number creation process will not shorten this waiting period. If your application has taken longer than two weeks to process, please email D&B.
Once you receive your D-U-N-S Number, please allow up to 2 business days for Apple to receive your information from D&B. After this period, you may enroll as a company/organization in the Apple Developer Program.
Your Mac provides several tools to help you identify it. The simplest is About This Mac, available by choosing About This Mac from the Apple () menu in the upper-left corner of your screen. The other is the System Information app. Learn how to use these tools to identify your Mac.
I would go to EveryMac.com. It has all the model numbers listed, by general spec and date available. It often does not have the specific part number for your computer, but it will give you enough information for any ordering or part-replacement issues.
(1) Part number can not be easily found. So far, not sure where to find it.(2) The detail model is shown in About this Mac. The reason why the year of manufacture was not shown is because I didn't connect to the internet. I never knew I had to connect to internet in order to check the detail model...
When I use Quicken Bill Pay on Mac, more often than not, when issuing a check, it repeats a previously used Check Number. Then, I have to go through the process and issue another check to the same person while having to cancel the check that was created with the duplicate number. I discovered this problem when the bank called me and said that someone was trying to cash a check with the same number as a check that had already cleared. Quicken support was no help. They never heard of this problem. Any ideas on what is wrong?
To assist with this issue, please provide more information. Which financial institution(s) is the account(s) that you use to pay your bills with? Are you connected to that financial institution via Direct Connect or Quicken Connect? (To check that, click on the account to select it, then click on Accounts>Settings. In the window that pops up, click on the downloads tab and it should show you the financial institution name and how you're connected.). Is the previously issued check number one that has already cleared the bank at the time that you're setting up the bill payment in your Quicken?
When you're working with lots of data in Apple Numbers on your Mac, you may run into a situation where you have duplicates. These could be names, email addresses, products, colors, or something else.
If you don't have a lot of data in your spreadsheet, you can sort it and check for duplicates manually. This method is faster than going through your Numbers cells one by one, but only if you don't have thousands of rows in your sheet.
There are two built-in functions in Apple Numbers that you can use to find duplicates. These are the IF and COUNTIF functions. Just like the IF and COUNTIF functions in Excel, IF can display duplicates as True or False or a word you assign and COUNTIF will display how many times an item appears to indicate duplicates.
To illustrate how the function works, our example data will show product names in column A, and our table has column headers in row 1. You need to have sorted your data per the above methods for this to work. Just follow these steps for your own spreadsheet:
If you prefer not to use a word of your own and just display True for duplicates and False for non-duplicates, you can simply enter (A2=A1) in the editor. This works without adding IF before it.
You should now see numbers in that new column showing how many times the item in your duplicate column appears. For our example in the screenshot above, you can see that Cap appears three times, Coat once, and Gloves twice.
You can manually remove duplicates using the IF or COUNTIF function, finding each cell that says Duplicate, True, or any number over 1 and deleting them one by one. Sorting the formula column lets you remove the duplicates much faster though, but you need to be careful you don't delete the originals as well as the duplicates.
Maybe you do want to remove the duplicates, but you also don't want to lose any data. For instance, you might have inventory data for products, like in our example. So you want to total those amounts before you delete the duplicates. To do this, you'll need to merge the data first. For this task, you'll use both a formula and a function in Numbers for Mac.
To remove the duplicates from your Mac Numbers sheet after you merge data, you'll use the sort action again. But first, you need to create new columns to copy and paste the data results as values so that they are no longer formulas.
Now, you can sort by the remaining Duplicate indicator column using the sorting instructions at the beginning of this tutorial. You should see all your duplicates grouped together so you can delete those rows.
It's easy to have duplicates in your Numbers spreadsheets, whatever you're calculating. Hopefully, the steps we've outlined above help you quickly identify any duplicates, merge relevant data about them, and remove them for a clean sheet.
INSTRUCTIONS TO FIND YOUR MAC SERIAL NUMBER
If your computer will turn on, you can click on the Apple menu in the upper left corner of your screen and then click on About This Mac to find the serial number.
If your computer will not turn on, you can look on the bottom of the laptop for the serial number. It will be etched in very small characters after the words Serial No.:
Here is a sample serial number found on the bottom of a Mac laptop.
Once you have your serial number, you can use it to check on your warranty or accidental damage coverage. Warranty covers manufacturer defects. Accidental coverage covers accidents that caused the laptop to fail.
If you would like to check on your Mac's warranty, you can go to this page:
If your laptop is covered by Safeware (accidental damage coverage) and you need to know if the policy is still in effect, you can go to this page: and use the serial number to look up your coverage. If the serial number was entered incorrectly at the time of purchase, you may have some other options to look up by your last name or other choices. Remember that if your parents purchased the laptop for you, you might need to try their information.

Apple blotch leafminer second generation mines are visible now from the under side of leaves and some have begun to show through the top side of the leaf. If you are planning to spray for second generation leafminer it should be applied immediately. Provado is the least harmful to beneficial mites but Lannate and Vydate are also effective against apple blotch leafminer sap feeding mines. The second generation is much more difficult to control than the first generation. The second generation leafminer is more spread out and the trees have many more leaves which makes it more difficult to get good pesticide coverage. An insecticide against apple blotch leafminer should only be applied if you get an average of 1 new mine per leaf.
We are finding many rose leafhopper nymphs in many orchards now. Rose leafhopper looks exactly like white apple leafhopper to the naked eye. First generation rose leafhopper adults migrate into orchards from nearby multiflora rose bushes in early to mid-June. Second generation adults, present in July and August, lay eggs primarily in orchards. Third-generation adults, present in September and sometimes in very large numbers, can cause extensive excrement spotting of fruit and be a nuisance to pickers before migrating to rose bushes to lay overwintering eggs.
