Hello all,
In texturing rig and such I think I sent an eye by GoZ in zrush.  Now the eye is seperated from the rig and not texturing properly.  I am too far along to go back to the prop rig stage.  Could I duplicate the other eye geometry and UV and mirror, then connect to the rig?  If so can you please give me a step by step?

I can send screen captures.

Also, can I use the species rig as a "model" and is there a best practice to do this?

Thanks a ton for any fast responses as I am behind on a deadline ( as usual).

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

You can do as you said and duplicate your new eye mesh to the other side. Make sure you freeze (Freeze button on the right of the UI) them and freeze their transforms (Transform > Freeze Transforms).

Next you'll want to envelope each eye to their respective deformers in the Species rig. They are named "Eye_L_Def" and "Eye_R_Def". See attach image to find them. Select the new left eye mesh. Then go to Animate > Deform > Envelope > Set Envelope. Then select the "Eye_L_Def". Once it applies the envelope hit "Freeze M" on the right of the UI. Repeat the same steps for the Right eye.

Not sure what you mean by a "model" but I think you're referring to a referenced model? Yes it should work with no problems.

Best,
Eric T.

Thanks a ton Eric.  You are always such a great help!!
Yes, you are right, it is a reference model that I was referring to.  Awesome.

Thanks again for your quick response!
