I just installed species 1.6 and I am having trouble on a rig. When I select all in the synoptic I get an error message. Is this a bug?

I guess that would help. :) 'ERROR ; object (s) missing. Failed to locate controls.

I just went to build- import female.  It gave me the Hominid_Female_PropRig model. Then I went to PropRig >AnimRig and selected the model with no dual quartenion Ice tree and No finger Setups. This gave me the Hominid_AnimRig. I then deleted the Hominid_Female_PropRig and then when I bring up the synoptic and hit "Select All" I get the error.

Hi John,

I notice you mentioned you just installed 1.6, but I think 1.6.1 is our latest version.  I cant remember for sure, but I think we may have fixed that in the newest version.  Try upgrading and let us know if you're still experiencing the problem.

Cheers,

Chris

Actually looking back through the list, I think 1.6.1 has the bug as well.  We may need to roll out another update.

ok I guess I can just create a character set as well. But I will go to 1.6.1.  DO I have to go through the process of getting another license file? It seems the rig is really stable other than what I mentioned though.

Hey John,

You shouldn't need to reactivate when you upgrade, your current license should work fine.

Looking through our tickets, this bug should have been fixed for the 1.6.1 release.

Yesterday installed 1.6.1 and I have the same issue.

Everything was completely removed and re-installed. You didn't copy and paste new files into the old directories or the like?

So it seems it works on the male rig but not on the female rig. My main character is female but I am now setting up the male. With the male I can select all in the synoptic.

I do have to ask, are you using a Female rig created with a version from 1.6 or lower? If so, can you create another female and see if it works for that one? Also did you use the "Localize Synoptic" button?

I did it initially with 1.6 and then as i said yesterday installed 1.6.1. are you able to select all with creating a new female rig in 1.6.1?

Here is an interesting development.  I made the synoptic local and then exported the model to a new project. When I import the model I can select all on the female rig.  However; when I create a new female rig it still does not select all.

I've got that error too, is there a way to solve it ASAP locally? I need to do quick prototypes with Female rig, and now I have to select all controls from the Controls Group, instead of the Synoptic
Error message please. :)

This worked for me. Try it and see if it works for you.

I'm attaching a .zip file which has the "Female" folder of the synoptics in it.

You should navigate to the Species addon folder in the workgroup, something like this:
S:\Species\Workgroup\Addons\ExocortexSpecies1.6\Data\Synoptic\Hominid

In that directory there should be a "Female" folder. DELETE it.

Copy the "Female" folder in the attached zip to that folder to replace the one you've just deleted.
