Hey, so I've gone on a route of creating a Hominid character, exporting it to Motionbuilder and doing everything I need to do in Motionbuilder. Now I'm ready to bring it all back into Softimage and back on a Species Hominid AnimRig.

I've gone through the tagging process and such. What happens is it's all flipped out.
I've gone through and 'zero'd out' the nulls into the same t-pose as the character I originally exported to MB. Just in case that might help.

I've attached a test file, the two models are ready for 'rig to rig' to be applied (Sham_ = Source, Hominid = Target). If someone wouldn't mind taking a look at it, would be great.
See if there's an issue I've found, or just an issue I've created and how I might be able to fix it. :)

Thanks,
Rob.

OK! So I've created a shadow rig that's constrained to my mocap bones. Listing only the ones needed and all with a direct hierarchy to the parent bones. It's fixed my problem. I just need to build myself a script to automatically create this shadow rig.

There were a number of problems with my imported mocap bones that most likely caused the issues.

Thanks!
Rob.

Hi Robert,

Glad you were able to figure out the issue.  I tested your scene and saw the same whacky results.  It could be that the imported rig's hierarchy was causing the problem.  We dont have too much Motion Builder experience.  Does MB typically export rigs with the CDK Spine?

Let us know if you run into any more issues.

Cheers!

-Chris
