Standardising a format length, presentational style etc. Had a quick
look as some statistics and most people listen to podcasts journeying
to and from work with the total average time of an hour. So it would
make sense to aim for this length. We could then break it up into a
magazine style podcast with set features- 1 X long piece 20 min, 1 x
serial story 15-20 min, 1 x play format 10 mins, leaving 15 mins or so
for features such as news, reviews and opportunities. We can always
add additional works on an associated web site. There are plenty of
royalty free sites for effects, sound bedding and stings so we should
be able to aim for a pretty professional quality.
But perhaps all this is moving a bit fast maybe we need to just have a
look at what material we already have and what we can start working
on.
For those in the group who have not ventured into the world of
podcasts or radio drama perhaps we could get together an essential
taster list for over the holidays.

Doesn't look like there's anything in the DropBox yet, but short
pieces to read aloud are welcome. Julian has something he's just
written, and I have some ideas for my Pope Berlusconi prompt which I'm
trying to briefly write up...
Apart from that, we can talk about the podcast (thanks to Darran for
useful links below!) and I'd like to briefly chat about a project I'm
thinking of doing next year.
And there are some beers (and a bottle of Crabbe's ginger beer!)
chilling in the fridge!
