Hi Jamesey,

We're currently meeting on Thursdays, usually the last one in the
month. We talk about any kind of Speculative Fiction (sci-fi,
fantasy, horror, magic realism, and so on) and mostly do prose fiction
(if you're interested in posting a different genre or medium then we
might be up for it, but best to ask first!).

The next meeting is:

*** Thu 27th October 7:00-9:00pm ***
DoES Liverpool, 4th floor, Gostin Building (offices, left of the
retail part)
32-36 Hanover Street (between Central station and Liverpool ONE)
MAP + photo: http://bit.ly/Gostins
INFO: http://doesliverpool.com

Great if you can let us know if you're coming, but you're OK to turn
up on the night too.

We'll distribute stories by email or Dropbox beforehand for critique,
so let us know if you have something to submit; alternatively you can
bring a short (less than 1000 words) piece to read out on the night
(ideally bring some printed copies for people to follow along).

(It's not obligatory so submit a story, and in any case, you're
welcome to just come along the first time to check the group out!)

thanks for getting back to me and I don't think I could have chosen a
worse time to find you! I have literally just started a 20 week
Writing Novels course that runs every thursday 6:30-8:30!! I would
love to come along but I know i'll not make the meetings! However
after the course I will do my best to pop down and say hey and meet
the group if y'all will have me lol.

Hi Jamesey,
I nearly signed up for one of those courses myself this autumn, but too much on, and I didn't want to miss the group!
I think it's possible that we might have the occassional meeting on a different day over the next few months, so perhaps you can maintain a peripheral association with contributions welcome when we can fit in non-attendees. Similarly, you would be welcome to read and critic our submissions. It's a friendly group, well run by Hakim.
Can I also point out that you should keep your eye on Liverpool One Waterstones. A number of us attend their excellent reading events. We have three authors speaking this Friday at 6pm to 8pm, and you wouldn't have to ask around much to identify some of us there, including myself! Entry is usually 2 squid, but you get that back if you buy anything. Although it's a horror fiction nite, you will find it will put you in touch with other genre events as well (mostly run by the very talented My Glyn of Liverpool One Waterstones).
