TheVisual C++ Redistributable installs Microsoft C and C++ (MSVC) runtime libraries. Many applications built using Microsoft C and C++ tools require these libraries. If your app uses those libraries, a Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package must be installed on the target system before you install your app. The Redistributable package architecture must match your app's target architecture. The Redistributable version must be at least as recent as the MSVC build toolset used to build your app. We recommend you use the latest Redistributable available for your version of Visual Studio, with some exceptions noted later in this article.
Unlike older versions of Visual Studio, which have infrequent redist updates, the version number isn't listed in the following table for Visual Studio 2015-2022 because the redist is updated frequently. To find the version number of the latest redist, download the redist you're interested in using one of the following links. Then, look at its properties using Windows File Explorer. In the Details pane, the File version contains the version of the redist.

Visual Studio versions since Visual Studio 2015 share the same Redistributable files. For example, any apps built by the Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, or 2022 toolsets can use the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. However, the version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installed on the machine must be the same or higher than the version of the Visual C++ toolset used to create your application. For more information about which version of the Redistributable to install, see Determining which DLLs to redistribute. For more information about binary compatibility, see C++ binary compatibility between Visual Studio versions.

Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is an installer for Microsoft C and C++ runtime libraries. Many apps, programs, and games created using these two languages require the installation of these libraries to function correctly. The Visual C++ architecture installed must match the application's architecture to be run.
Sometimes, when installing a very recent game, it may not work. Most games usually include several additional installation packages, but sometimes they don't. When you download them from gaming platforms such as Steam, these redistributables are usually automatically installed on your computer.
If you've had Windows installed on your computer for several years, you will likely see redistributables installed from different years and versions, such as 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2022. This is because there are programs designed to work with a specific version of these libraries. Here at Uptodown, we offer downloads for the latest available versions for both 32- and 64-bit, taking into account that many are no longer supported.
Uptodown is a multi-platform app store specialized in Android. Our goal is to provide free and open access to a large catalog of apps without restrictions, while providing a legal distribution platform accessible from any browser, and also through its official native app.
Attempting to install the application via MSI was quitting immediately when ran silently. I removed the silent flag to see that the installer was complaining about not detecting VC++ 2013 x64 on my machine.
That being said, are the optional features ONLY for 64-bit versions of Office? We have 32-bit Office 365 installed and I did notice that the add-on fir AdobePDF Creation was Inactive "due to a runtime error". Does this mean the 32-bit version is also affeced by this?
I too am finding this an issue with msiexec installs. i'd like to use the transforms option set and bypass the VC++ message. I have included IGNOREVCRT64=1 as we are wanting to deploy Adobe DC Std/Pro but this option isn't working in our testing. It still prompts about VC++.
When I launched apex, I seem to get the same error every time I get to the loading screen. I launch the game, and it loads the first scene, but it crashes as soon as it gets to the menu. When it crashes it shows the error "Microsoft visual c++ runtime library". Does anybody know what the problem is here?
Beyond that you could also try these additional troubleshooting steps. If that continues to happen we could also take a look at your DxDiag to see if anything else stands out that could be causing this to pop up.
ArcGIS Desktop and Pro have system requirements with Windows, specifically .NET and (for desktop) Visual C++ Redistributable runtime. Note the Can you run it? app linked from the system requirements pages provides lots of useful information, but it only checks for .NET, not the VC++ Redistributable. (If you attempt an install with required software missing, you are likely to have a failed install with the message of components missing to be found in the windows installer logfile. Easier to check first!)
Release is the release number, unfortunately from reg query it shows up in hex code. Using this web page you can quickly convert the hex number 707fe to 460798 which corresponds to .NET 4.7 (on my particular OS, I told you it was complicated). Also you could search this same key using regedit (which will show you the decimal value) but I'm a fan of command lines -- and you may have regedit turned off by your security settings. I'm sure Version is also a useful thing to check but based on the fact that Microsoft set up a web page with the hex code lookup, it's probably right but it may not be as trustworthy as it looks.
Symantec Endpoint protection manager 14.3 and later utilizes Microsoft Visual C++ runtime and so Broadcom includes Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable runtime installer in the SEPM install folder vcredist_x64.exe and vcredist_x86.exe
NetBackup on Windows is built using Microsoft Visual C++ compilers which require current Visual C++ runtime libraries. When you install or upgrade NetBackup on Windows computers, the NetBackup setup may need to account for issues related to Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries. This can include new prompts, unsuccessful installation and upgrade, and restart requirements.
To run Microsoft Visual C++ applications, a Windows computer must have compatible versions of Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries. NetBackup requires both the x86 and x64 versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries. Microsoft's utilities for installing these libraries can alter Windows computers such that a restart is required.
Before installing or upgrading NetBackup on Windows computers, Veritas recommends that you install the required Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries. The installation of these libraries should take place within a maintenance window when you can safely restart the computer. If the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library installation utilities indicate a restart is required, Veritas recommends restarting the computer as soon as possible. This restart ensures all applications that rely on Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries operate successfully.
If a Windows computer already has the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library versions required by NetBackup, or higher versions, the NetBackup setup does not attempt to install them. Otherwise, the behavior varies across supported installation and upgrade methods. The behavior described below applies to NetBackup 10.4 and later.
If the NetBackup setup attempts to install Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries, and Microsoft's vcredist utilities indicate a restart is required, the user is notified and asked if the NetBackup setup should proceed.
If the NetBackup setup continues, installation of the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries will be attempted shortly after the NetBackup setup begins on the remote computer. Following those attempts, if a restart is required, the NetBackup setup ends.
NetBackup setup is capable of installing Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries as part of silent installations and upgrades. The following properties in the silent install scripts for primary, media, and client computers allow you to customize the approach used during silent operations.
