Background jobs

Another approach is to use a daemon to control jobs. Personally, I
think this is overkill for our needs, but worth a look-see:

The start and stop scripts are working. Time to move on to the next think.

Hope your git troubles are behind you for now. Once you have a handle
on them, you can create aliases and shell functions to eliminate the
drudgery.
