hey, i brought my Mi4 less than one year back. Yeah I've read online it can be an issue with them. It's still a great phone and I do like them as it's hard to get better value for money with them but the flash staying on so long is annoying. I can't seem to find any real solution at all. Clearing the cache helps but after a few shots it's back to the way it was. Only other thing is to put the "always on" flash mode on if I want to take brighter pictures but it doesn't come out quite as good that way.
