Build is pretty good as it is imo, obviously crucible time is not competitive for SC speedruns especially as AoE damage is mediocre. Single target damage from guardians on crack is pretty good though imo. Survivability can sometimes be a little iffy. Anyway hope you guys enjoy this build, have fun and happy farming!
I personally like the guardian claymore better but the difference in damage (and the fact that my strength and quick action are high by the time there is a puresteel blade available) makes me reluctantly change to the puresteel.
There is a late to really-late game puresteel weapon that hits harder than the guardian claymore or a puresteel blade. Has some sort of stat boosting effect as well. I can't remember what its name was. IIRC, you can only get it as a Taker, and you have to get stat drained by the creation that gives it to you.
I agree with Dikiyoba on the pure damage output - I always had slightly higher damage output from the puresteel blade. But (my recollection is not perfect here) if the guardian claymore adds strength to your creations as well, and you actually have a powerful creation, then the claymore's stat boosts pay off.
Even the radiant puresteel soulblade is no match for oozing blade in most cases. Oozing blade is the only melee weapon in geneforge series does no-physical damage. A mere of 3d4 damage is nothing compared with 50% physical resistance.
I know this is a really old thread, but I think it's important to add that later investigations found that Geneforge 1-4 have a bug where items that should provide a bonus to creation strength actually don't. This tilts the argument in favour of the puresteel blade.

I've heard a lot of things in game about, why Lyn have to be tiny animals, why gons are so big and can't be smaller how Yun being the nature and should have summoner. While it is true that Yun is from nature, all guardians are from nature, however; had different roles.
It benefits a lot from the knife fitting into the sheath with the blade going either direction. At one point we switched from scout carry to more of a front-hip carry and found the handle getting in the way of the belt buckle so we just switched the sheath to the other direction and flipped the knife around. It still rode comfortably and was a lot easier to deploy.
A scroll that changes a weapon's appearance to that of the Saint Guardian's Chain Blade. You can only use it on a chain blade. (Cannot be used on Spirit Weapons or other select weapons.) The scroll will disappear once the effect has been applied.
I personally prefer sword. I feel it does more damage and I like the added bit of mobility from the one of the sword skills (2?) I find no real world use for a scepter. if I need range then I throw on a long bow. Nor do I see many guardians use scepter.. maybe for funsies but that's about it.
Guard (Ex): A blade guardian moves swiftly to defend its master by its side, blocking blows and disrupting foes. All attacks against the master take a -2 penalty if the blade guardian is adjacent.
