On OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and later versions of OSX you probably will encounter an error message when you first open SpeakGoodChinese2 after downloading the application:

“SpeakGoodChinese2.app” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

You can find how to run SpeakGoodChinese2 here:

Temporarily Get Around “App Can’t Be Opened” Gatekeeper Alert Message

This is probably the best option for most users, since it maintains some security:

  1. Right-click (or control-click) the application in question and choose “Open”
  2. Click the “Open” button at the next dialog warning to launch the app anyway

Another option is to go to the System Preferences... under the Apple icon and select Security & Privacy. Under the tab General you can find a button Open anyway. Press it.

If all goes well SpeakGoodChinese2 will run.
