Hi.  I installed TPP 7.3.0 this morning (after uninstalling my previous working version) and the installation seemed to be OK.  But, now when I try to launch using Firefox, I get an error that it can't connect to localhost: 10401.  Chrome also doesn't work.  Help!

Hi Sue,
This may be due to the (Apache) web server not running.  It usually is set to run at the time of installation, but may require a reboot in some cases.  When it is convenient, please reboot your machine and see if it works then.

If it still does not work (or have already rebooted), please see if you can manually restart the web server by using the "TPPTray" utility, described here.

Alternatively, you can control the server by opening the Windows Task Manager, selecting the "Services" tab, and look for "TPP Apache Web Service". Right-click on that item to bring the menu that allows you to start/stop/restart that service.

Hope this helps!  And of course please let us know otherwise.

Thanks, Luis.  (Jimmy also replied with some parallel suggestions.)  I've already re-booted a few times, with no success for the program.  When I try to start tpptray from a command prompt, there is an "access denied" message.  When trying to start the web service through the task manager, it starts for a second and then stops.  Although I have admin privileges on the computer, it's possible that there is a protected section on the C drive.  This happened once before, but I thought that the entire C drive had been made accessible.  I'll have to investigate tomorrow unless you have other suggestions about ways to get around the apparent access issue.

Dear Sue,

I think the problem of port number.
Can you change the port number to 9988 and 9989 or something different during installation?
When I teach to students with TPP, I showed something like this case.

Cheers,

Heeyoun
