Hello,

Thanks for your interest in using TPP on a mac.  The sourceforge site is supposed to identify your OS and download the correct installer, which is doesnt always work depending on the browser.  Pleas download the Mac installer fron the direct link here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sashimi/files/Trans-Proteomic%20Pipeline%20%28TPP%29/TPP%20v7.1%20%28Albedo%29%20rev%200/TPP-7.1.0-Albedo-macosx.pkg/download

I hope the installation is self explanatory once you have the correct package.

After installing, use a browser to navigate to http://127.0.0.1:10401/tpp

Hopefully that will be all that's required.

Hi I had another problem, I tied accessing the url link that you provided it worked fine yesterday and today I tried again but it said server not found unable to connect. I deleted TPP and reinstalled it, is this a common problem. ill update again if this problem reoccurs.

Hello Ash,

Thanks for your continued interest in TPP for Mac.  Certainly you can change the password and create new users with additional work.  Although the apache web server that is enabled by default should only allow connections from your local device.  The problem you are seeing with TPP not starting automatically is because it relies on the apache webserver to start.  You can look up how to enable that by default as a service on boot-up or you can open a terminal and type:

sudo apachectl -k restart

I hope that works for you so you don't have to reinstall every-time, although that only takes seconds on a mac as well.

Best,

-David
