I would like to convert AB SCIEX .wiff files into mzXML format but i
do not have any analyst software installed on my computer. Do i have
to have analyst installed, is there any way to convert files without
analyst?

Thanks

Msconvert versions before 2.1.2403 required Protein Pilot 3 to be installed in order to convert WIFFs. Starting with 2403, msconvert can convert WIFFs with
either Protein Pilot 3 OR Skyline. The former is no longer available at all (and Protein Pilot 4 does not work as a substitute), but the latter is freely
available from:

Thanks Matt

I have tried downloading Skyline but i am still not able to convert wiff files.  On the wiki page for mzWiff, the tool that does the conversion, it states that the Analyst library is required.  Have you been able to convert wiff files (ABSCIEX) to mzXML without the Analyst software installed on your PC?

Thanks again

Zac

MzWiff and msconvert are different software. The former requires Analyst, the latter does not. Doesn't your subject "ms convert" refer to the msconvert tool? If
so, what happened with msconvert after you downloaded Skyline? And what Windows OS?

Thanks again.  Sorry about confusion, I thought msconvert represented a group of conversion tools, which included mzWiff.  If possible, please could you direct me to a site to download the msconvert tool, i have not been able to locate a server

I have downloaded Skyline and I am using Windows 7, 64 bit (compatibility with 32 bit programs)

The "artifacts" link for Windows x86 is what you want. Then download pwiz-bin*.tar.bz2.
