One PhD position is available immediately at the Breast Cancer Translational Research Laboratory of the Institut Jules Bordet/ Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium.
The successful candidate is expected to join an established breast cancer translational research team led by Dr. Christos Sotiriou.
The candidate will have the opportunity to access high throughput datasets from platforms such as next generation sequencing and microarrays (gene expression, GWAS, CNVs, and methylation).
Integrative methods are to be developed in collaboration with the Machine Learning Unit of the Université Libre de Bruxelles led by Prof. Gianluca Bontempi.
Qualifications:
---------------
Candidates applying for a PhD scholarship should have a master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, engineering or a similar degree. The applicant should have computing skills in R and at least one programming language. The applicant should be fluent in written and spoken English.
Salary and appointment terms:

The salary is consistent with the current rules for PhD students in Belgium. Funds are available to support this position for 4 years (2 years renewable once).
