Recommended way to build spatialite for iOS etc.

Is there a recommended way to build libspatialite and dependencies using latest release (5.0.0 or trunk) for iOS etc.

 On linux, configure, make and make install work.

But there are no  such equivalents for iOS etc.

Hi MB. Maybe you've found an answer to your question already, but I found this git repository with instructions for installing v4.4 in Xcode. Maybe you can modify the code for the latest release. I haven't tried any installation yet, but if you have luck with this one I'd love to hear about it.
