How to install Spatialite-gis in windows environment

Hi 

I am new to spatialite(actually got to know about it few hours ago). 
I found the url to download source of the spatialite gui and spatialite-gis (https://www.gaia-gis.it/fossil/spatialite_gis/index) but couldn't find a installtion for spatialite-gis.

Is it possible to use spatialite-gis in windows? Or is it only for the linux environment? :)

Hello Diren,

Spatialite is absolutely available for Windows.  Unlike other software, it does not need to be installed per-se, it is available online as a pre-compiled binary.  A binary is an ordinary .exe file, which you can open and use without installation.  These can be found at:  http://www.gaia-gis.it/spatialite-2.3.1/binaries.html.  Since you are a novice, you would probably want spatialite-gui and spatialite-gis.  The former contains the entire spatialite library with a light graphical user interface, while the latter is a minimal GIS based on spatialite.  Within these downloads you would want to open the .exe files to get started.

@E. D. Antmann that link is a little old. The latest stable version is 4.0. Try this link instead. http://www.gaia-gis.it/gaia-sins/windows-bin-x86/ from the home page in the orange area titled "MS Windows binaries current stable version" at http://www.gaia-gis.it/gaia-sins/
