Don't understand the arrangement of cube faces.

https://github.com/google/spatial-media/blob/master/docs/spherical-video-v2-rfc.md

right  | left   |  up
down |
front |  back

No faces are arranged so that they share common sides. If the video is watched outside of a spherical viewer it is all scrambled up.

3X2 should have

Left | front | right

top | back | bottom

With the second row turned sideways, now you have at least two continuous strips.

If their video is resized without extracting the faces and then putting them back together there is a problem of compressing effecting border and getting bleed.

Hi,
This initial layout is simply matches the face order of the Facebook cubemap_32 format generated by their FFmpeg plugin. It essentially puts POSITIVE_X, NEGATIVE_X, and POSITIVE_Y in one row and NEGATIVE_Y, POSITIVE_Z, NEGATIVE_Z in the other. I agree that the layout you propose has some useful properties. I've been thinking about integrating it and potentially others into the spec. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
