Hi, I have a couple questions about DSE.

Is there currently a working DSE algorithm in the framework, and if yes, can it be used by itself, possibly on custom data?
Is hypermapper or a beta version of it currently implemented?
I'm looking at branch issue140_dse, and I assume it's WIP but I'm not sure how much is usable. Also, that specific branch does not compile right now.

Thanks,
-Quentin

Hi Quentin,

Right now that branch crashes upon trying to do DSE for parallelization factors on tile loads/stores, and is dangerous to use for other kinds of parameters.  As you said, the latest commit may not even compile :(.  I hope to get it up and running some time in the next few months.

DSE in "old spatial" (spatial-lang repo) is what we have used in the past for DSE.  Do you want to try using that?  The downside is the current compiler (spatial repo) is much better and more stable in many ways, but if the goal is to just get hypermapper + dse working for the sake of using a DSE framework, I think it would work.

Thanks for your reply. I only need the DSE framework indeed, so if hypermapper works in the old repo, I will give it a try.

Hi, I have a follow-up question.
Hypermapper seems to need the "hypermapper.py" file. Is this code available somewhere? I couldn't find it.

Thanks,
-Quentin

Hi Quentin,

HyperMapper is not open source yet. We are welcoming alpha users, so if your objective is to use a DSE framework on custom data please let me know and I'll give you access to the repo and the quick start guide.

You can look at this arXiv paper for more information on HyperMapper: https://arxiv.org/abs/1810.05236

Best,
Luigi
