Saba Innab is an artist and an architect whose work is concerned with urbanism and the process of space production and reproduction. Her architectural practice landed her recently in the reconstruction of Nahr el Bared camp. Saba's artistic work is very much influence by her architectural work and a critical examination of cities and places. Her work probes construction/ destruction as a process/ form which in itself builds its own content, despite its contradictory state of being. This open studio is the end of her art residency in 3studios.

 

As I cross hectares of empty lands repeatedly from Amman to Nahr el Bared Camp, ideas and questions around the meaning of land come to my mind.  Four check points or more stretched along the extended No man's land- with an occasional appearance of scattered sheep in the horizon, free and mobile sheep- reminds me a lot of the empty bulldozed land of El Bared, a land without sheep! The sea in front of you and nothing is around you. You are just a small human being standing on a surreal coast! The temporary permanents, the vertical horizons; paradoxical dialogue and comparisons accompanied me constantly as I cross borders and move within the cities. What does the land mean? How do you build without a land?! Scenes are created In an Inner monologue that is constantly fed by the everyday life of this reconstruction process, gradually transforms into radical or may be Utopian possibilities, based on scenes from Nahr El Bared and other places.

 

 

 

 

 

ستديو مفتوح  يعرض نتاج اقامتها الفنية في ستديو عين

عين مريسه  يوم الأربعاء الموفق 29/9/2010 ويوم الجمعة الموفق 1/10/2010

صبا عناب فنانة ومهندسة معمارية، لديها إهتمام في التنظيم المعماري وأساليب إنتاج وإعادة إنتاج المكان/ الفضاء. تعمل حالياً في مشروع إعادة اعمار مخيم نهر البرد ، ويستند عملها الفني عادةً إلى عملها المعماري يطرح تساؤلات عن شكل البناء والهدم ويرسم تكوينات تتعدى الشكل المعماري الساكن بلا سياق.  هذا الستديو المفتوح يعرض نتاج اقامتها الفنية في ستديو عين. 

الهكتارات الخالية التي أمرّ بها، خلال تنقلي المتكرر من عمّان الى مخيم نهر البارد، أثارت لدي أفكار وأسئلة عن معنى الأرض.  الأرض الخالية التي تتوزعها أربعة حواجز أمنية أوأكثر، تشاركها فيها أحياناً قطعان خراف حرّة متنقلة متناثرة  تترائى في الأفق، تذكرني كثيراً بأرض الباردالخالية حتى من الخراف!

البحر أمامك ولا شيء آخر في الجوار. أنت مجرّد انسان  صغير على شاطىء سريالي!  المؤقت الدائم، الأفق العامودي؛ هذا الحوار المتناقض ظاهرياً والمقارنات ترافقني دائماً خلال اجتيازي الحدود ودخولي المدن. ماذا تعني الأرض؟ كيف نبني بدون أرض؟! حوار داخلي مع الذات يخلق مشاهد سرعان ما تتحول الى امكانيات جذرية أو حتى مثالية مستوحاة من مشاهد من مخيم نهر البارد وأماكن أخرى.
