I think I know why the little red crosses appear on some people's
movie clips the next time they try to open their file.
If you right-click on the video clip and > properties > look at the
location of the file.
If the file location is C:\...
then it means its located on the C-drive which means after a day or
however long, its been deleted therefore the file doesnt exist anymore
and cant be located back to your video in Movie Maker.
You need to make sure after using Fraps, you copy the "espviewer" file
to a permanent location and THEN import the file from THE PERMANENT
(not C:\) location to Movie Maker.
After importing this to Movie Maker, If you then try right-click on
the timeline video clip >properties >location it should show the
location as the permanent location of your choice. IE : H:\ or
harddrives.
This is an "I THINK", but then better to be safe than sorry. I had a
wee investigation into it, and thought maybe you could move the file
from C: but it only makes a copy and it is still located in C: (in
Movie Maker). Sorry but I think its a start again scenario.
I think it's similar to Vectorworks, or Powerpoint where all the files
need to be kept together to be re-located the next time you try access
them.
