Hey,

How can I make an activity edge connector in EA? I would like to stop the contorl flow control and resume it in another diagram or elsewhere in the same activity diagram.

Best regards

Try this: create two bending points with ctrl-click on a transition and then hide the middle part via context menu Suppress Line Segment

This works within one diagram, but can't be applied when I want to start the control flow on the other diagram. Any other ideas? :)

You can try using a diagram gate (UML/Interaction).

Sorry for interrupting again, but your solution didn't work as I thought it would. Gates from interaction look like activity edge connector, but can't be connected to any activity elements by activity arrow.

So maybe any other thoughts?

I think you have to stop and think why you have this problem (and we don't).

Usually when you are the only one bumping into some kind of limitation that indicates that you are doing something wrong.

Instead of asking for a specific solution you may want to try and explain your problem to us.
Good chance there's a much easier/better solution then cutting connectors into pieces.

They can be. You need to switch off Strict Connector Syntax (Tools > Options > Links) and use the toolbox, not the quicklinker.

However, usually the only "off-page connectors" you need in UML activity diagrams are Initial and Final nodes.

Thank you a lot for your answers.

I need to stop the control flow because of very trivial reason - my activity diagram must fit on one page. That's way I want to stop the flow and activate it on the other diagram. Furthermore my activity diagram is divided into "sections" and I just want to start the new section on the other diagram.

For readers it's quite disturbing to find scattered diagrams over many pages where the connections are cut at page boarders. In all cases it's better to find "short stories" bundled in activities/sub-activities which form a flow that can be shown on one page and where each sub-story is represented on another one.
