copy/paste a sequence diagram

Hi

I'm creating a number of scenarios for a use case through sequence diagrams (main path, alternatives...)
It would save me a lot of time if I could duplicate sequence diagrams but this is not well handled in EA.
I tested a copy/paste of a package that contained my SD + instances but messages were lost in the copy.

Obviously copy everything from the seq diagram and paste into a new diagram doesn't work

Is there a way round?

Yes,

Copy/Paste the whole diagram in the project browser.
Try out the different options as there are some differences between them (deep/shallow/smart).
Also make sure you are on the latest version. There have been some improvements lately.

Right click on the diagram in the project explorer > Copy Diagram, followed by a Paste Diagram indeed sorted the issue.

Hello,

copy and past the diagram works fine but it duplicates all instances in the project browser and this is messy.

Is there a way to copy the diagram without duplicating the instances?

That's exactly what 'shallow' way does. Though please mind that the connectors depend on this too, so if you will re-arrange connectors on the new diagram, they will become broken on the original. Which is why it's usually recommended to do the Deep/Smart copying.
